Moreover we offer classes of “sicilianity” in which we will learn together the language, legends, cookery and everything about our own culture. We are involved in event organization, art exhibitions, performances and everything that could you come closer to the well-known and unexplored heritage of the biggest Mediterranean island.

We give classes of responsible tourism in schools and we promote and arise awareness of this approach to tourism. We make education projects for responsible tourism development to let students be conscious of the relationship with tourists. Sikilya offers school projects concerning well-known and unexpected aspects of Sicily, its history and culture. We offer a form of tourism aimed at meeting local people, acting as cross-cultural facilitator for an in-depth knowledge of social and cultural aspects, as well the tourist attractions of the country.

All our tours are organised in accordance with the basic principles of Responsible Tourism as set out in the Charter of the A.I.T.R. (Italian Association for Responsible Tourism) that says that responsible tourism is focused on the tourism presentation, as a long lasting development factor and as a re-appropriation way for the local communities, aiming to develop responsible networks or cooperatives that manage all tourism services and the reception of tourists groups in their own countries.
